On the counter of my local Napa store they have a display that shows a fram then a silver then a gold cut open for comparison. The silver is plainly superior to the fram. The construction and amount of filter media on the silver was obviously superior. While the gold looked the same but with even more filter media. Platinum Synthetic with Silicone adbv and dome end bypass, as advertised. But the Napa Gold dome bypass is curious. Most NG's have, or have had in the past, a thread end bypass.
